“TN Corn is another voice that tells the everyday consumer who we really are and what we really produce.”
Rob Holman
“We don’t need research that just helps us grow more bushels per acre. That’s what we’ve done for years. We can grow all the corn we need. We’ve got to do more with what we’ve got and make the price of it high enough to be worthwhile to grow.”
Mike Brundige
“TN Corn Growers were falling behind to develop their own corn markets in Tennessee. I think the checkoff will help to setup local markets in Tennessee. It costs money to ship this corn 100 miles whereas having a local market closer by would add to our profitability of growing corn.”
Karl Forsbach
“What we need to do is focus on finding new markets and new uses for our corn instead of making us produce more corn.”
Mike Holman
“It’s a matter of supporting your own product and trying to improve on it to gain better research and better yields all the way up to help the consumer and consumer education on some of the things we do that makes food more affordable. By promoting it and researching it, it leads to better yields that we get and the more efficient we are, it’s better for everybody.”
Eddie Sanders
“The biggest thing for me through Tn Corn Growers is the networking and relationships we’ve made. The ability to call up a buddy across the state and say, “This is what I’m seeing, what are you seeing? How can we fix this problem? How are you dealing with this/that?” So I would say probably the relationships we’ve made, that’s what has helped us grow the most so far.”
Andy Davis
Tennessee Corn checkoff dollars are helping fund precision agriculture research at UT Martin, where students are exploring how autonomous equipment and artificial intelligence can support more efficient, sustainable weed management for farmers.
Corn growers continue pushing for Farm Bill progress and year-round E15 access, working to build bipartisan support, strengthen demand for corn, lower fuel costs and protect rural communities.
U.S. corn growers face rising fertilizer costs driven by global conflict, trade policies, and industry consolidation. The National Corn Growers Association is working to increase transparency, expand supply, and advocate for policies that restore profitability for American farmers.
The Tennessee Corn Promotion Board is investing in 12 farmer-focused research projects to improve efficiency, protect yields, and build stronger markets for Tennessee corn growers.
